The advanges of HPMC & MHEC in dry mix mortar products
November 22nd 2024The water retention of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose products will be affected by the following four reasons, as detailed below, for reference only.
First, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose water retention will be affected by viscosity.
When the viscosity of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose increases, its water retention rate will also increase. When the viscosity reaches a certain degree, the increase of water retention rate tends to be gentle.
Second, the water retention of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose will be affected by the amount of addition.
Generally speaking, the larger the amount, the higher the water retention rate, the better the water retention effect. In the range of 0.25-0.6% addition, the water retention rate increases with the increase of addition. When the amount of water is further added, the trend of water retention becomes slow.
The water retention of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose will be affected by the temperature of the hot gel.
