Applications of HPMC Joint Filler
December 27th 2024HPMC manufacturer-Four major reasons for the water retention of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose
The water retention of the hydroxypropyl methylcellulose product itself will be affected by the following four reasons, as follows, for reference only.
1. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose water retention will be affected by viscosity
When the viscosity of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose increases, its water retention rate also increases. When the viscosity reaches a certain level, the increase of the water retention rate tends to be flat.
2. The water retention of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose will be affected by the amount of addition
Generally speaking, the larger the added amount, the higher the water retention rate, and the better the water retention effect. Within the range of 0.25-0.6% addition, the water retention rate increases as the addition amount increases. When the addition amount was further added, the addition tendency of the water retention rate became slow.
3. The water retention of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose will be affected by the thermal gel temperature
Generally, the higher the thermal gel temperature, the higher the water retention rate. Conversely, the thermal gel temperature, the water retention rate is low.
4. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose water retention will be affected by uniformity
Uniformly reacted hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, methoxy and hydroxypropoxy groups are evenly distributed, and the water retention rate is high.
