Mortar adhesive products: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)
Building-grade mortar adhesive is a polymer (HPMC) that can enhance the bonding of cement-based premixed dry mixes. The mortar with the adhesive has good flexibility and bonding, good anti-sagging, water retention, and water resistance. It is easy to operate and can improve the bonding strength and tensile strength to prevent hollowing.
Advantages of using mortar adhesive: It can be used by adding water directly, with simple construction, convenient operation, and high work efficiency.
Application of HPMC mortar adhesive
Building mortar with HPMC mortar adhesive can be used for the bonding of building substrates such as exterior wall tiles, exterior wall insulation board construction, concrete construction, and masonry bricks.
HPMC mortar adhesive auxiliary materials
The combination of HPMC mortar adhesive and cellulose ether, redispersible latex powder, additives, etc. can greatly improve the mortar effect.
The main function of HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) in bonding mortar is thickening, which is the most important and most intuitive function, so this type of product is usually called “thickener”. This is easy to cause some misleading, because the functions of this type of product also include emulsification, dispersion, stabilization, suspension, connection, rheology modification, protective colloid, water retention, bonding, film formation, surface activation, etc.
