The viscosity of HPMC is an important factor in its price. Generally speaking, the higher the viscosity of HPMC, the higher its price. This is because higher viscosity HPMCs require higher process requirements and more complex production processes, resulting in higher costs. For example, 400 viscosity HPMC is usually used in gypsum self-levelling products, but its price is $1,000 per tonne more expensive than ordinary products.
In addition, the viscosity of HPMC also affects its use; CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) is suitable for low viscosity applications, while HPMC is suitable for higher viscosity applications. Therefore, when choosing HPMC, you need to select the appropriate viscosity grade for your specific needs.
